How can the air filter clean and disinfect the incoming air? Henkaes factory recommends that when designing such air purification systems, it is necessary to consider the design scheme from many aspects in combination with the requirements of the demander. At present, it is common for air disinfectors on the market to use ozone generators or ultraviolet lamps, but attention should be paid to their safety and applicability. Let's compare the two disinfection methods below for your reference.
Use an ozone generator to emit ozone (O₃): Ozone is a strong oxidant that can destroy the cell walls and internal structures of some bacteria, viruses, molds and other microorganisms, thereby achieving a sterilization effect. At the same time, ozone can also decompose organic pollutants and odors in the air.
Ultraviolet light disinfection uses ultraviolet rays (usually ultraviolet rays with a wavelength range of 200-280) to destroy the DNA or RNA structure of some microorganisms, making them lose their reproductive ability, thereby achieving a sterilization effect.
These two disinfection methods have a good killing effect on a variety of microorganisms. In order to avoid secondary pollution after the purification process, experienced engineers will add a corresponding air filter at the outlet of the purification system to prevent the discharged air from being polluted again.
Precautions
It is worth noting that: the concentration of ozone should be reasonably controlled. High concentration of ozone is harmful to the human body. Manufacturers should choose ozone generators that meet the standards to avoid excessive ozone or leakage of inferior products, which may cause respiratory irritation, headache and other symptoms. The ozone generator should be used in an unmanned environment as much as possible, and the ozone concentration should be within a safe range. After ozone sterilization, it is necessary to ventilate as much as possible, and wait for ozone to decompose into oxygen before entering the room, or add an ozone removal air filter at the outlet of the purification system to prevent ozone from entering the room and causing secondary pollution.
When designing a plan for ultraviolet disinfection, it should be noted that since ultraviolet rays propagate in a straight line, they can only be effective in areas directly exposed. When disinfecting the air, ultraviolet rays need to fully contact with microorganisms, so it is not suitable to design too high a flow rate. The shadow area or the area with fast air flow may not be thoroughly disinfected. Ordinary ultraviolet lamps will decay over time and need to be replaced regularly. In order to facilitate the subsequent use of customers, if there is room for funds, you can also choose coated lamps and LED ultraviolet lamps with relatively longer lifespans.
Both methods have their advantages and disadvantages. Is there a third alternative?
Some disinfection solutions can also try HEPA filters. The raw materials use antibacterial filter paper or spray antibacterial agents on the finished filter. Some bacteria generally attach to particles. Using them as carriers and using relatively high-level air filters, you can try to filter the carrier particles and some microorganisms to achieve the purpose.
